Our process engineering services commence with face-to-face meetings with executive and senior managers of an organization to gain a thorough understanding of the business objectives, corporate culture, and existing organizational policies and processes. Our process engineers assess the organizational maturity and process area capabilities, establish priorities for improvement and guide the implementation of those improvements. Our methodology has consistently: (1) delivered time-tested benefits to clients that include efficient and effective appraisals and improvements across multiple process disciplines; (2) reduced training and appraisal costs; and (3) provided a common integrated vision of improvement for all organizational elements. Our process engineering services include the following components which can be purchased either separately to supplement improvement activities of a specific team or as a total package.
Process Review Services
Process reviews are normally conducted when an organization has independently defined and developed its processes and desires to have an "expert review" performed against specific practices or standards to expose deficiencies or risks and obtain recommendations for mitigation and improvement.
Process Definition Development Services
iPower routinely provides process definition and development services in those situations where a client does not have a defined process for how their organization performs certain activities. Working with the client's key staff, our first step is to identify the boundaries that define where a process begins and ends. Developing a process map or flow diagram facilitates these efforts. Relevant stakeholders are involved throughout the effort in obtaining inputs and acquiring verification of essential information. Once the process map is completed, we work with the client's organization to develop the process by defining entry/exit criteria (i.e., the triggers that cause the process to begin and end), inputs/outputs, and specific process steps. The new process is then piloted to select groups in the organization, feedback is incorporated and the process is finalized for deployment to the organization.
Project Facilitation of Process Implementation Services
Process implementation relies heavily upon an understanding of organizational change management as well as an understanding of the new or changed process steps that a project must implement. Project teams frequently resist implementing processes because they cause changes in the way activities are currently performed and are often perceived as creating "more work". Therefore, we continually work very closely with our clients to develop deployment or implementation plans, establish performance objectives and goals, and provide hands-on training to project teams that assist in their understanding of how current activities relate to the new processes. We provide an overview of the new process and then work with project team members to implement the new process as a series of manageable tasks or subtasks. Performance is periodically checked through internal and/or external assessments. Feedback from the project team members is collected throughout the implementation effort and recommendations for improvement are documented and provided to management.
